he Crook O Lune picnic site is situated at a popular beauty spot on a horseshoe bend on the River Lune to the north of Lancaster, and at the foot of Bowland. There are many pleasant walks alongside the wooded riverbanks and venturing off into the surrounding countryside. There is a high likelihood of spotting a kingfisher and well as a wealth of other woodland and riverbank birds.
The Lune Millenium Cycleway, whcih forms part of the Lancashire Cycleway, follows a nearby disused railway and connects the Crook O lune picnic site to the Lancaster and Bull Beck picnic site, to the north.
